Google, the most-used search engine on the World Wide Web, has launched a personalized news feed on the company’s flagship app, and it will soon roll out to browser versions of google.com.
The new and improved feed will live inside the Google app on Android and iOS, but soon mobile and desktop web users will begin seeing elements of the news feed on the home page.
This update will be the most radical change to Google’s famously simple home page since 1996 and will be competing with Facebook news feed.
This doesn’t mean that Google Search will disappear completely, but search as we know it will be different. We will be receiving information based on our location, time, and general usage habits.
Google is hoping you’ll begin opening its app the way you do with Facebook or Twitter, checking it throughout the day for news and information.
